Indo-Aryan Indo-Aryan

About Indo-Aryan

A population-genetics method, published openly, applied to your own raw data for one payment.

What this is

Indo-Aryan is a research project on the population history of North-West South Asia, and a small service that applies its method to your own raw DNA file.

The research is published openly at research.indoaryan.com — the articles, the data behind them and the reference populations they use. The report sold here fits your genotype with the same method and the same references.

What qpAdm does

qpAdm models your genome as a mixture of published ancient reference populations and reports a weight on each source, a standard error on every weight, and a p-value for whether the model can be rejected. It can, and often does, reject its own model — that is what makes it worth using.

You get the fitted model, the weights, the standard errors and the p-value. If competing models also fit, you get those too. Where no model survives, the report says so.

What it is not

This is a statistical research report. It is not a medical, diagnostic, paternity, forensic or legal test. It establishes no nationality, ethnicity, community membership, caste, religion or entitlement, and issues no certificate of ancestry or origin.

The current reference set describes North-West South Asian ancestry best. Ancestries outside that range are likely to receive an infeasibility result, which is delivered as the report.

Who runs it

A small independent team. The service is run under the Indo-Aryan name; the binding contract and the contracting party are shown at checkout.
