Accessibility
This site should work for everyone who wants to understand their own ancestry, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
The standard we work to
Indo-Aryan aims for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this site, and level AAA for text contrast: body text, labels and links are held to a 7:1 contrast ratio against their background.
What we do
Every page is checked with automated WCAG 2.2 tests before it is published.
Everything works without a mouse, and the keyboard focus is always visible. Moving content, such as the row of comments at the bottom of the homepage, has a Pause button, and stops entirely if your device asks for reduced motion.
Text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, and the pages reflow to a single column on narrow screens.
Known limitations
The bot check on the upload and email forms is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile and is outside our control. It usually needs no interaction at all. If it blocks you, contact us and we will help you place your order another way.
The ancestry report contains charts. If any part of your report is hard to use with your setup, tell us and we will send the results in another format.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, write to us through the contact page. Say which page and what happened; you do not need to know the technical cause. We reply within 24–48 hours.
